August 29th, the Diversity in Nurse Anesthesia Mentorship Program will host the Diversity Advanced Practice Nurse Doctorate Symposium at Emory University School of Nursing.
Four panels of diverse CRNAs and NPs (PhD, EdD, DNP, & DNAP) will speak on doctorate journey, differentiation of PhD vs DNP/DNAP, rigors of program, how to prepare for faculty positions in academia (tenure vs non-tenure), career trajectory with earned doctorates and importance of publishing in peer-review journals.
A panel of diverse doctorate prepared FAANs & FAANPs will speak about building a body of work for consideration into the Academy. Another dedicated diverse doctorate panel of CRNAs and NPs will focus on Maternal Health Issues and Elimination of Racial Disparities in Black Maternal Mortality.
In the next few posts, we will feature panelists of CRNAs, NPs and a graduate senior nurse anesthesia student on the Maternal Health Issues and Elimination of Racial Disparities in Black Maternal Mortality. Next month, we feature other diverse doctorate panelists for this one-day event.
