And, just like that, Kiana just passed this critical care nursing intensive exam!
After almost two years of being an ICU nurse, I am officially Kiana BSN, RN, CCRN!
Passing my critical care certification exam has been an important professional goal for me this year. Thank you God for everything.

Diversity CRNA 2024 Information Session & Simulation Lab Workshop hosted at the University of Pittsburgh.
Saturday featured a comprehensive session where detailed information about CRNA programs, DNP/DNAP projects, and clinical expectations was shared, giving attendees a clear understanding of the academic and practical demands they will face
.
Sunday was a full immersive simulation day, providing hands-on experience that equipped nurses with valuable skills and a taste of what it’s like to work as a CRNA. This experience allows critical care nurses to confidently write about their Diversity CRNA weekend in their personal statements for CRNA admission consideration.

This disparity highlights the importance of events like Diversity CRNA, which aim to increase diversity within the profession. By offering these workshops, we are helping to break down barriers, providing access and support for underrepresented groups to pursue nurse anesthesia as a career path. The transformative experience these nurses gained will undoubtedly fuel their drive to make an impact in the field.
These events not only prepare participants for the technical and academic challenges of CRNA programs but also foster a sense of community and mentorship. The connections made during the Diversity CRNA weekend create a lasting support network, encouraging these nurses to persevere through their journey and become future leaders in nurse anesthesia.
