I was the kid who initially did terrible in undergrad. The kid who became a father and dropped out in his junior year of college and was told he’d never go back. I proved the naysayers wrong, but more importantly I proved to myself and my son that we can accomplish anything.

Acceptance after my first interview, in my first application cycle... I’m honestly still in disbelief.”

A summer in Oakland, CA...Diversity CRNA 2023 Information Session & Airway Simulation Lab Workshop hosted at Samuel Merritt University.

I see you Andre Angelia, BSN, RN, CCRN, CMC.

I had an amazing weekend! Thank you for organizing it, putting it together, & giving us a safe, inclusive, space to learn about the profession.

That's a wrap on Diversity CRNA 2023 SMU! I came into this weekend on a Friday, alone and nervous as heck and I left on a Sunday, empowered and ready to walk that path ahead of me with new friends and future colleagues uplifting me.

I want to give a huge thank you to @lenagould on IG and entire Diversity CRNA for creating such a safe, inclusive, and enriching space for folks like me to learn about the CRNA profession. All while addressing historic barriers to entry bipoc face when pursuing higher education.
