Louie Delgado, BSN, RN, CCRN, CMC and
hashtag#firstgen college graduate, shadowed Dr. Everett Moss, DNP, CRNA in the operating room!

Per Andre:

I had an amazing weekend! Thank you for organizing it, putting it together, & giving us a safe, inclusive, space to learn about the profession.

That's a wrap on Diversity CRNA 2023 SMU!

I came into this weekend on a Friday, alone and nervous as heck and I left on a Sunday, empowered and ready to walk that path ahead of me with new friends and future colleagues uplifting me!

I want to give a huge thank you to @lenagould and entire diversity CRNA team for creating such a safe, inclusive, and enriching space for folks like me to learn about the CRNA profession. All while addressing historic barriers to entry bipoc face when pursuing higher education.

I am so grateful to God who continues to open new doors for me time and time again.

By His grace I am going to be a certified registered nurse anesthetist! I’ve been blessed with the most

amazing support system, they are so so solid!

And thank you to my diversity CRNA community for empowering me to do my part to help diversify the profession, and for pushing me to get in the room and work it. Receiving an acceptance was a challenge in itself and I know the journey ahead will not be easy, but I am excited and ready.

Dr. Boateng, DNP, CRNA loading!

Luke 1:37 “With God all things are possible.”

Dear Dr. Gould,

I am extremely excited to announce that I have recently accepted admission into the Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program at Texas Wesleyan University for Fall 2024.

I wanted to take a moment to truly thank you for what you do. The event I attended in April 2024 at Midwestern University was the first time I had ever witnessed a professional and passionate environment where I not only felt welcomed but, where I belong.

I have had a passion for anesthesia since high school and your workshop allowed me to experience hands on simulation for the first time. Furthermore, the experience instilled more confidence in me and resonated with my purpose.

I know that this is not by luck but a blessing from my God to be able to attend my top choice and favored clinical site. I just wanted to share the news with you personally and my gratitude. I’m extremely excited to start this new chapter! To be continued!

Sincerely,
Breanna Blair BSN, RN, CCRN
