Experienced diverse CRNAs have designed a one-day curriculum that will cover anesthesia related topics. All presentations made with detailed information about translating didactic topics into clinical preparedness, Anesthesia topics, how to select a doctorate scholarly project topic, introduction of clinical logs and nurse anesthesia care plans. 


This is for newly accepted nurse anesthesia students, SRNAs currently enrolled in a program and RNs actively placing applications into a nurse anesthesia program! 


All presentations by experienced diverse CRNAs for this one day event! 


There will be no airway simulation workshop. Moved to an online Zoom format due to COVID-19.

Are you interested in pursuing the doctorate? Need direction on which doctoral pathway to travel? If you are a Registered Nurse, CRNA, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, or nursing student and thinking of pursuing the PhD, EdD, DNP or DNAP...attend the Diversity Advanced Practice Nurse Doctorate Symposium!


  • Come and meet diverse doctoral prepared nurses who can differentiate between a dissertation and doctoral capstone project or research vs. clinical doctorate!
  • Learn about the admission process, length of program (fulltime vs. part-time), financing education, grant writing opportunities, doctoral committee formation, career trajectory with earned doctorates and more!

Experienced diverse CRNAs have designed a one-day curriculum an intentional and innovative initiative for new faculty members or those interested in a career in academia to learn from experienced faculty of color on navigating faculty positions, negotiating contracts, exploring interview process, faculty promotion process collaborative publishing opportunities, PhD, Pain Management Fellowships, Simulation Educators, development of content experts at nurse anesthesia meetings, and creating a pipeline of Fellows of AANA & American Academy of Nursing.


This is for new faculty, CRNAs interested in becoming faculty and/or in sub-specialties, or those interested in a career in academia.

This one day event is scheduled at select Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Schools of Nursing. Diverse CRNAs and nurse anesthesia students visit and speak with nursing students about the nurse anesthesia profession as a viable career choice. And, excellence in nursing school clinical and didactic courses, pursuant of critical care nursing position upon graduation, importance of scheduling the CCRN Exam and balancing family and finances with hands-on anesthesia airway simulation lab.
