DIVERSITY CRNA NEWSLETTER
Dear Diversity CRNA Family,
As we reflect on an incredible year, my heart is full of gratitude and excitement! Thanks to the hard work and passion of our CRNA volunteers, Chairs, and Co-Chairs of the Committees, we have made extraordinary strides in our mission to diversify the field of nurse anesthesia. Your unwavering dedication and commitment have been the driving force behind everything we have accomplished, and I want to take this moment to sincerely thank each and every one of you.
I am beyond thrilled to share that this year, over 750 amazing registered participants joined our events, and 1,500+ active members are now part of the Diversity CRNA family! This growth is a testament to the passion, commitment, and drive of all of you who believe in this mission. Together, we are building a stronger, more diverse, and inclusive future for our profession.
One of the highlights of this year has been the launch of the Diversity CRNA Wellness & Joy Collective. This initiative was created with YOU in mind—to support and uplift you in both your personal and professional journeys. We are just getting started, and we are planning more events next year.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are so excited to announce our upcoming in-person events. These gatherings are not just about learning—they are about connecting, growing, and supporting one another on this shared journey. We hope to see you at one (or more!) of these exciting events:
- Kaiser Permanente: April 4-6 – Registration Now Open
- University of Pittsburgh: June 20-22– Registration Opening Soon
- Rosalind Franklin: August 22-24 – Registration Opening February 2025
- Emory University: September 12-14 – Registration Opening February 2025
- Midwestern University: October 17-19 – Registration Opening February 2025
If you cannot join us in person, no worries! We will be streaming our Saturday Diversity CRNA Information Sessions via Zoom from each host university, so you can participate virtually and gain the same valuable insights from anywhere in the world. This is an opportunity for EVERYONE to connect and learn, regardless of location. The Saturday Zoom Session for Kaiser Permanente is now open for registration.
As we continue to grow and evolve, I know that these are challenging times for many of us. But in the midst of it all, our mission is more important than ever. We are creating lasting change, but we cannot do it without your support. So, I humbly ask that you consider participating in our Diversity Now, Not Later fundraising contest or by making a donation to help fuel our efforts to diversify the field of nurse anesthesia. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a big difference.
Finally, we are excited to announce that in 2025, our Diversity CRNA Boot Camp & Doctorate Symposium dates will be shared soon. And, starting in February 2025, we will be bringing back our free Personal Statement & Resume Review services and Interview Preparation Sessions to continue supporting your journey toward success.
This is just the beginning, and together, we are creating something truly special. Thank you for being part of this incredible community. I am so excited for what is to come, and I cannot wait to continue this journey with all of you.

Exciting news for future CRNAs! We're thrilled to announce the 2025 Diversity CRNA In-Person Events – an incredible opportunity for aspiring CRNAs to connect, learn, and be inspired by industry leaders.

Can't Make it In Person?
For those unable to attend in person, the Saturday Information Sessions will be broadcast via Zoom from each host university. This is your chance to participate virtually and still gain valuable insights, no matter where you are located.
Registration Has Opened for the 1st Event!
Don’t wait – these events fill up fast! Be ready to secure your spot whether in person or virtually as soon as registration for the 1st event has opened. The in person event at Kaiser Permanente is at capacity with a waitlist although you can still register for the Saturday Information Session via Zoom. The University of Pittsburgh event registration will open soon. The registration for the remaining three Diversity CRNA 2025 Information Session & Airway Simulation Lab Workshops will open registration in February 2025!

Now is the time to stand for diversity in nurse anesthesia. We need more diverse CRNAs, faculty, program directors, and clinical preceptors, as diversity improves both student and patient outcomes. While progress has been made, much more needs to be done. This is the mission of the Diversity in Nurse Anesthesia Mentorship Program.
Show your support by purchasing a t-shirt from now through December, and submit a photo of yourself by January 15, 2025 wearing it for a chance to win.
