Dear Diversity CRNA Community,

The month of November is a time to reflect on gratitude, service, and commitment to our community, we are reminded of the important role that diversity plays in advancing our profession and shaping the future of nurse anesthesia. November is also the month when we honor our veterans, and we want to take a moment to express our deepest appreciation to all the men and women who have served in the armed forces. Your dedication and sacrifice are an inspiration to us all.

This month, we are thrilled to celebrate several milestones. We wrapped up our final in-person event of 2024 at Fairfield University, marking our 67th event—a truly remarkable achievement! Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported our mission throughout this journey.

On Saturday, we held our final Diversity CRNA Personal Statement & Resume Writing Workshop of the year via Zoom and moderated by Levia Sutton, MSN, CRNA, Chair of the Personal Statement & Resume Review Committee. This online event was joined by over 125 RNs interested in learning tips on how to craft resume and personal statement documents that stand out. The energy and enthusiasm from the participants were inspiring, and through the works of the committee the organization is proud to have helped so many individuals enhance their chances of success in the competitive CRNA application process. Last Sunday, we also concluded our final Diversity CRNA Advanced Interview Session via Zoom orchestrated by Interview Preparation Committee Co-chairs, Dr. Lukeythia Bastardi & Dr. Stephen Sanchez, that entailed 9 diverse CRNA volunteers who provided valuable feedback during one on one mock interviews in four break out rooms for over 20 aspiring RNs. This initiative continues to be a pivotal resource for those preparing for admission into a graduate nurse anesthesia program. Looking ahead, we are already excited to announce that the Diversity CRNA team will return with new in person and online events in 2025. Registration for our first in-person Diversity CRNA 2025 Information Session & Airway Simulation Lab Workshop event will open in December 2024—mark your calendars! Registration for the remaining four in-person Diversity CRNA 2025 Information Session & Airway Simulation Lab Workshop events will open in February 2025. Don't delay as our events fill quickly. Full details and Diversity CRNA event dates for 2025 will be coming soon, so stay tuned.

As we close out 2024, we are taking a well-deserved break for our CRNA volunteers, and our free services, including the interview preparation sessions and personal statement & resume review, will resume in February 2025.
